gilbert arizona family session | the defer family
in order to fully appreciate my thoughts on this session, (not that you need to appreciate my thoughts...but hey, you're reading this.) ;)you need to listen to this song.I've grown to love and appreciate the woman in these pictures a lot.at face value, all most will see is an incredibly "fun-size" beautiful woman.flawless in her style and beauty...but she is so much more than that.I've noticed that beautiful people get looked at sideways and judged a little more than others...words are said (imo mostly in jealous envy) that "life must be soooo easy for her." "she doesn't even have to try...", "she's just a barbie doll."and in my opinion, she's not any of that.life is the same for her as it is for anyone else...and she works hard at living it to the fullest...I genuinely admire her for how hard she works...whether it's at her marriage and loving her husband as best she can,or how hard she works at trying to be an excellent mother and raise her son the way God says to raise him,or how hard she works at making her home a beautiful and welcome place for friends and family to come over...I'm smiling at that one...her + his parents literally live behind them and down the street for them...her comment to me that "it takes a village." is SO true and I love how close and tight knit they are as a family...liam is so blessed and he doesn't even quite know much yet!and the last thing, that has made our paths happily cross often, is her drive to work hard at her business...she's an incredible make-up artist...striving to enhance women's true beauty and not mask it or paint over it.her face is her brand and I think she is successful not necessarily for how beautiful she is (although she so is)BUT I think she is most successful largely in part for the way she interacts with each client...she cares about them, wants to know about their lives...all while recognizing their beauty and making it even more so with her talent and skill...the end product is that clients walk away feeling encouraged AND beautiful!yep, the gorgeous woman is SO much more than just a pretty face and I'm so thankful I get to call her my friend!p.s. THANK YOU, will + melissa for allowing me a new kind of family photography...I LOVED getting to take a more photojounalistic-in-home approach to your session...to see the real you...you guys are awesome for trusting me! :
