art challenge - day three

my friends are starting to call me obsessive/nerdy/WHATever ;) about my fascination with birds and animals.I can't help it...these creatures just genuinely make me wonder about the intricate way they are put together.feathers, fur, claws, beaks, creepy eyeballs, how they fly, how they crawl, what they think about...(look at a gorilla and tell me they are not thinking something...seriously.)it's hard NOT to be fascinated in the artistic way they are put together.zoo's and arboretum's and really any place in nature have become "where's waldo" places for meto find birds and animals to find and photograph so that I can stare at them at my leisure.to be honest, when I chose this category as day three, it was hard for me to narrow it down my choices.zebras, dragonflies, lemurs, rhinos, peacocks, eagles, elk, hummingbirds, horses...my family is patient with me because I will literally plant myself and just watchthese animals from behind my lens for a long while when we go looking for them.the only other person who I have read about who is as equally fascinated as meand whose book has fanned my fascination with animals flame is rien poortvliet.his book of ALL hand sketches and art based on his wonder of noah's ark is mesmerizing and mind blowing.the hard back book is on my wish-list of christmas presents next year...it's that good.day three of this art challenge that I have been loving...animals and birds. :)animalbwlazarusanimalflamingoanimaltiger
