I've been thinking a lot about judgement lately.
here's what I think I know: it's something that many of us ride the struggle bus with.
I can 100% guarantee that someone is going to open up this blog post and immediately think judgmental thoughts.
judgmental thoughts about me as a photographer.
judgmental thoughts about the beautiful girl in today's post.
just gross judgmental thoughts.
yep, it's gonna happen.
and I get that it happens...all of us are battling inner-demons that just all-too-easily show up in judgement of others and in favor of ourselves. I think it's a self-preservation thing because of insecurity mostly...but no matter the reason, it's gross nonetheless.
it's a thing that I so wish wasn't a thing.
honestly, I don't think any of us like ourselves for being that way. (if you do, I'm sorry get another thing that allows you to like yourself.) ;)
so what if we didn't?
what if we saved judgement of each other and instead worked to celebrate each other?
sounds like a corny thing camp counselors are taught to tell you as a ten year old...but honestly, what freaking if.
gosh, that'd be awesome.
what if celebration came just as easily as judgement...what if positivity was the first thought leaving the judgemental thoughts waaaaaaaaaaaay at the back of the bus.
cause you know what?
yes, the girl in todays post looks like a perfectly mushed together gisele bundchen + giada de laurentiis into one absolutely beautiful woman. that is going to leave anyone feeling slightly insecure...or flat out in awe of God giving her massively good genes. ;)
but she's so much more than that.
she is hard-working.
she is incredibly funny.
she is caring and sweet.
she is happy and smiles easily and often.
she has overcome hard stuff time and again and shown her character.
and personally I can't look at fruit or golden retrievers without laughing and thinking about how cool of a person she is.
all that stuff comes from the inside.
it's positive and true.
what if those thoughts came first.
what if. :)
p.s. a huge thank you to megan leland for rocking her hair AND to ashley of the beYOUty house for creating the most perfect glowy sunkissed look for her face! you girls rock at what you do!
