why do I blog about the people I spend time with who choose to stand in front of my lens?I could just post the photographs and call it a day.but in a world that is full of mindless scrolls, of 180 characters or less, blogging allows me to slow down and to talk about the experience and not just rush on by it.they say "a picture is worth a thousand words." and I agree to a certain extent...but I also think that the thousand moments that happen when I'm spending time with a client are worth talking about.especially when it's with people I've know for years and am proud to call friends.I don't think we talk about the good moments enough, if I'm being honest.this is my blog, my thoughts, my words...so I get to talk about the good moments for longer than 180 characters if I want to. ;)debbie.today she is having a procedure to help with the pain in her back becauseshort answer - her back can't be 100% fixed and she's going to have to deal with pain the rest of her life.pause on that for a second....that sucks.a lot.but one of the things I love about debbie is her cheerfulness.and despite the amount of hardship she's faced so far in this life...she is still cheerful and fights for it.another thing I love about her is that she lovesher life and the people who fill it.when she posts, she sometimes uses the hashtags #myheart #mylove #mylife...and it's true.the three people she calls family ARE those hashtags to her...and she tells them and the world that they are her heart, her love and her life.another thing I love about her is her ability to laugh and have fun...one of my favorite sounds and sights is of her throwing her head back and laughinguntil her dimples show and she wipes laughter tears from her eyes.debbie is a great friend and one that I look forward to spending time with.aaron.he is debbie's rock and for that I admire him a lot.she can't drive a lot so sometimes when we are hanging out, he'll stop by on one of his errands with a diet coke for her.just because he loves her and knows she'd appreciate it.he is a fantastic musician.as in fantastic.sometimes during the quiet at church when we're supposed to be getting our hearts right,he'll be playing in the background.and I'll close my eyes and feel my face smile listening to him play.I dunno if my heart is right at that point...but it's one of my favorite things to listen to at church and during church.no other tracks or singing or instruments...just him playing what he feels like playing.harrison + mckenna.I like getting to photograph these two.it let's me see firsthand a little of what debbie tells me about them.they are funny. they are creative. they are unique.they are no longer "kids" but definitely moving towards solid young adults.they laugh easy - which speaks volumes about the parenting and love they've been shown.and they're just cool people that I like photographing.so there you go...SO not 180 characters or less.but so worth the 561 words to tell you a bit more of these amazing people in these fun photographs.I love you, bower family! :)
