yep, I posted her post as sammie. :)can you call her that?not likely...she goes by sam or samantha these days...and to be honest, it suits her...but to me...she is my sammie.I wonder sometimes about the people who read this blog...it may seem that I know each of my clients in depth and for long seasons...that isn't always true with each and every client...some I meet for the first time ever the moment their session starts...and I love that.people are incredibly interesting to me...my dad has long encouraged me to find something interesting about every single person I come in contact with...when I blog about these new-to-me-client sessions and the conversations and observations that happen at their sessionI'm reminded of one of my favorite annie liebovitz quotes:

"...a thing you see in my photographs is that I was not afraid to fall in love with these people."

I think that's important.I know that in my two hour sessions I'm not going to know and understand every facet to your personalities...but man it's fun to learn and know you...personally and most especially in front of my lens. :)but for some others on this blog, I definitely have known and loved them for a while...a favorite thing I love in "my job" is putting my real life friends in front of my lens...somehow when a friend allows me to have them in front of my lens...I get to see them even more clearly...and somehow love them more...not sure if that makes sense, but I love it.today's girl is very much in the category of people I love.she is my encourager even though I think I'm supposed to be hers. ;)she regularly texts me encouragement...she'll drop off a diet coke and a sweet "you got this!" note when she knows I'm loaded up...she is vulnerable with me...with her thoughts, her dreams, her heart...that is an incredibly strong character trait in my book...being vulnerable.it's scary to be vulnerable to people.I'll admit that it's somewhat hard for me to vulnerable...you get "burned" by a few too many people and feel the need to sort-of protect your heart and hold people at arms length...she came into my life at a particularly un-vulnerable season of life for me...I think she knew that...but to her...whatever facade I might have put up...she'd walk in and hug me anyways :)when I'd let go of a hug she was famous for still hugging and saying "no, I'm not done yet."lol...whatever barrier I felt the need to put on my heart was demolished by her push right through and love me in spite of me...and why that is, I'm really not sure...but I'm so glad she doesI simply cannot imagine life without her...many of you know her as my amazing assistant...and she is that!I never have to think of anything other than you, my clients when she is assisting me...but she is so much more than that to me...her laugh, her eighty year old soul, her faithful and full love for me and others, her teachableness, her constant encouragement...sammie, you are invaluable to me as a friend and I love you...tremendously.
