arete preparatory academy senior | bryn
two things about the portrait up there ^^^:
*bryn.
I've been listening to woman by mumford & sons because she showed it to me a few weeks ago. she called it her "hype" song.
that simple statement of hers still makes me smile.
there is and never will be another bryn.
she is effervescent. (yep, it's a word, look it up illiterate ones because it describes her perfectly.) her laugh can be heard in my mind when only seeing her picture. she runs into life with arms wide open and smile on her face. she is determined. she is driven. and she is someone I so enjoy spending time with as part of my #jdismc crew.
*intention - I spoke about a little about my heartbeat when I'm taking a portrait at the life collective last week, but I'll share a little of it here too:
"...when I take a picture I'm trying to capture light a certain way...I'm trying to capture something that the naked eye wouldn't catch or appreciate by itself. I'm not trying to manipulate a picture into being, but I'm trying to capture something I see that encompasses angles/lighting/beauty/emotion in one portrait..."
the picture above is one of my favorites from the afternoon I spent with just her and me. she laughs often and easily. but when she is still and strong and direct, gosh - her beauty and strength are something for me to pause at and pay attention to.
you'll notice that this one almost doesn't fit her series of portraits, and I like that. it's unique. I took it with intention. and it shows a facet of her character that her personality might hide a little for her. bryn, I think you're strong. and I admire that about you. I love my time with you, and I love that this picture has muddy birks and laughing and prickers and conversation and mumford & sons attached to it for me.
your happiness at life is contagious.
congratulations on being an awesome part of graduating from arete prep - class of 2020!
