I am that photographer that gets teary-eyed over looking at other peoples photographs as I edit through them.I'll admit it.yep, I even put on tarzan's "you'll be in my heart" as I edit...yep, I'm SOOOOO that nerdy photographer. ;)why?because I look at these people and I see my own kids and my own memories fill my heart as I look at them...I see my son when he was almost two and wanted to pick citrus off of the tree's and run and jump instead of pose,I see mydaughter, slightly nervous in her own skin in front of my lens as a newly labeled (and beautiful!) teenager,I see my husband and the laughter that follows when I ask these couples to look at each other just a few inches from each others face...so yes, the tears happen for me as I edit and listen to my sad songs ;)...tears fill my eyes because I know that I'm lucky.and I know that these families that I get to photograph are lucky to be in the season of life that they are and even more...I'm happy to give these photographs to them because I know full well that it's of a season of life that goes by so dang quickly...people always told me that and I never believed them...but oh my gosh, it does.I love that these families trust me to photograph these fleeting memories...and in a sense watch some of their families grow up through my lens.in these photographs there is happy, goofy love,there are brothers that hug just a smidge too much and then the happy awkwardness ensues,there is laughing at each other when you get in a sudden panic over not knowing "what do I do with my hands?!",there is sweetness when a married couple truly looks at each other and notices each other and then moves in for a kiss,there is answered prayers in children that now have faces and funny personalities to put with those long-ago prayers...and best of all, there are friends that I love getting to spend time with...especially photographing their memories.I truly, truly love days like this one. :)thank you for this day! (and to the ones who didn't want their images posted because they're christmas gifts for other family who might spy and see!) ;family
