I've been feeling a bit under the weather today...so in my imagination, as I cozy under my covers,I am back by this lake...the sun is shining, the wind is breezing just a smidgeand I am laughing with some of my favorites...every year our driesbach side of the family try and vacation somewhere central to all of us...that side of the family is sort-of spread out all across the map.for the past two years we've congregated on the coast of lake michigan in michigan.it's perfect.minimal wi-fi...no tv...just family, beach, board games, food and more family in a beautiful home by the beach.she is someone I will forever admire and look forward to vacationing with.she is wise, she has seen a lot of life and has proven over and over again to trust in God's faithfulness...even when it's abundantly hard.I love her and love that I get to call her family and my friend...she makes me wish I lived close just so I could hang out with her. :)he is an incredible leader for his family...he's "tall uncle jason" to my kids and usually can be found in the middle of a chase/wrestle match that he instigated. he is smart, wise and faithful and I like him especially for the glint in his eyes at family gatherings...he doesn't take life too seriously and you can see in his eyes that he's almost holding back his crazy side. ;)his son, on the other hand...is how I would imagine his father to be as a small boy.full of energy, imagination, and much like calvin + hobbes (who my son thinks IS him) always seems to find himself in some sort of trouble/mischief...he is most like his mother in his thorough albeit comical ability to explain quite emphatically and clearly with detail that "I have NO idea how this happened" or better yet "yes, I DID do that naughty thing." without the where-with-all to know that he shouldn't admit it. ;)yup, I love these people...and I love that when I look at these photographs that I'm transported to a happy place with people I love. :)
