in one of my very first blog posts on this blog I quoted this:

"...sometimes it's so hard to find what it is I'm trying to say...people might think you can turn creativity on and off, but it's not like that...it just kind of comes out...a mash up of all these things you collect in your mind. You never know when it's gonna happen, but when it does...it's like magic. It's just that simple and it's just that hard."

THIS session is that magic moment for me.a single magic moment that was a year in the making.why this session?

why not. :)

at the end of the movie is the credit's...to me the credit's is noting and appreciating the people who enhanced a dream...and the people who stayed til it was finished. :)I feel like it's fitting for this session because this session simply would not have had happen with out "the credits" :)so before the images but after "the movie",there are a few who I will forever smile at because of the role's they played in making this dream happen for me.

  • my husband...sitting on the floor of my kitchen, eating food my mother made for me because I hadn't eaten in over 12 hours, still reeling from a failed attempt at chasing a dream...he simply came over to me, picked me up, hugged me for a loooong time, wiped my tears away and said: "try again.  you were meant to finish."  I am not me without him...he allows me to dream while keeping his feet firmly on the ground for me. :)
  • my little sister.  I call her yess, but you know her as elizabeth from elizabeth ann photography.  she is the ying to my yang.  during failed attempt #1, with a broken foot in a boot, in the dusty desert, with blisters on her other foot, she looked at my inability to see up - smiled her crazy smile and said: "yup, it sucks.  sucks big-time...but we're FREAKING going to make lemonade out of lemons."  and we did.  she doesn't quit...and pushed me so that I didn't either.
  • my mother.  up there in the first credit?  yeah, she takes care of e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g. that goes un-noticed in our family.  that shot waaaaay down there in this post with the fabric of the dress flowing in the wind?  she whooshed it. yup, professional whoosher status.  she made food for the entire set and stayed to make sure we had everything we needed.  she reminds me to drink water when I'm dehydrated on diet coke.  she is my mom.  I feel like that should be a verb, because I can't imagine her without her actively filling in the blanks of my life.
  • the rest of my amazing family.  after the first two failed attempts - the emails, texts, pins, phone calls were overwhelmingly encouraging.  they were the first to show up to help set up and the last to leave.  they sweat for this, laughed maniacally for this, muscled this session into reality and I love them tremendously for it.
