I think the thing that made me smile the most about this adorable sessionwasn't actually the one I was photographing...ALTHOUGH she is adorably sweet with her soft little lips and her teeny-tiny fingers and toes...no, I think the thing that made me smile the most was watching her beautiful mom be just that...a mom.this young woman surprised me with her grace at transitioning from young woman to young mom.the conversation I got to have with her while her sweet daughter dozed offwas one of determination to be the best mom she could be...a conversation about knowing that in order to be a good mom her focus in life needed to be about the sweet pink little girl she looked down at and gently caressed as she slept.I think my favorite moment of getting to spend time with her was at the end of her session...braelyn had decided she was done having her picture taken and began to cry,katie simply picked her up and began to kiss her face and stroke her face with her fingers and whispered shhh quietly and gently.completely natural..completely not overwhelmed...just being who she needed to be...her mom.and it was beautiful and sweet to get to watch. :)congratulation, katie...braelyn is beautiful! :)
