boettcher mansion colorado wedding | jon + jessica
I feel like that in order to really appreciate what you're about to see,you need to light a pumpkin spice candle + turn on one of my favorite "fall-ish" songs by Steve Martin. :)yep, the Steve Martin...click on his name - it'll make you smile. :)let me set the scene a bit to this most beautiful fall wedding day, elizabeth and I drove up to the top of one of Colorado's stunning mountains in Golden, Colorado.the weather was just starting to turn and you could smell just a hint of the cold that was to come in a few weeks.the rain had just finished falling (it does that at about 4o'clock every day and then clears out) andthe sun started to peek out from the sweet smelling pine trees...everything seemed to sparkle!Boettcher Mansion with it's rock walls and beautiful shake roof overlooking the forest was the perfect setting for Jon + Jess's wedding.once we entered through the garden, past the large fireplace, we found ourselves in the great stone hall.the tablescape was beautifully arranged by Sarah and all the tables were adjoined in the shape of a "U"...it was the first I had ever seen a layout like this and I smiled thinking it could not be a more perfect setting...everyone could see everyone and interact naturally, especially with the new bride + groom to be.the tables were lined with beautiful linens and burlap...all throughout the center of the U shaped tablesslices of wood had been carved and stacked with colored mason jars filled with wild fall flowers, candles + pine cones.it was perfect and a feast for the eyes...I seriously love the rich colors of fall. :)past the stone hall on the back patio overlooking the forest, italian lights lined the pathway to the alter which was draped with even more beautifully colored oranges, yellows and green florals.underneath the floral draping was Jon + Jess's aspen tree that they would water during the ceremony signifying their unity.we then found our way to Jessica's getting ready area on the west wing of the mansion.I had never met her before and I was immediately stunned with not only her beauty, but in the ease and happy energy in which she moved about the room.her wine colored lips laughed easily with her niece and friends, and her raven colored hair with incredibly blue eyes fit her personality perfectly.and her dress! it still makes me SO happy...really all of the dresses do.a perfectly fit custom made tea-length dress with mustard yellow trim and burnt orange crinoline that spun out when she twirled.and pockets! I'm obsessed with pocketed wedding dresses and her design had them custom made into the dress...sigh. :)down below on her perfectly petite feet, were throwback heel mary janes by ModCloth that accented the dress perfectly!her girls walked next to her throughout the day in wine, mustard yellow, evergreen and rich brown gowns...I've said perfect a dozen times already, but really it was - fall perfection. :)and jon and his guys didn't disappoint either!perfectly tailored brown tweed suits with elbow patches and assorted plaid ties that coordinated perfectly together.well done, gentlemen. :)the last part of the day that I want to tell you about is of Jon.his love for Jessica was astonishing...and I don't say astonishing very often...but it was. :)sometimes when you have a first look prior to walking down the aisle, the groom isn't as overwhelmed with emotion when he gets to see his bride walking towards him...not jon.his eyes misted over and as soon as he took her arm to stand next to her...and then he gently kissed her hand.a completely tender and loving moment that was beautiful to get to witness.many congratulations, Jon + Jessica...it truly was a privilege getting to meet you and photograph your most perfect wedding day with elizabeth!
