this wedding was one that seems a little closer to the heart for me.I haven't known trevor + nadia for years,however, from the moment I met them for our first meeting in the little coffeeshop I felt connected to them.I couldn't put my finger on why as I said goodbye to them,but when I got into my car to drive away the song "humble + kind" was playing...and I smiled.it's a song meant (I think) to be sung by parents to their child...trevor + nadia are adults...but in listening to it - it resonated with me that the reasonI felt connected to these two is because they were the things in the song."...don't take for granted the love this life gives you...always stay humble and kind..."that's what stuck out to me...their character.from first meeting with them, they welcomed me into their world.during nadia's bridal shower and then moving on to their wedding day,that connected sentiment that I felt towards them solidified and as I looked around andwhile elizabeth and I photographed their beautiful day, that sentiment was most obviously felt deeplyby the many loved ones who they surround themselves with.we laughed as we watched + photographed nadia and her beautiful college friends with their funny nicknames they had for each otherand smiled at the joy and happiness they had for each other in getting to simply spend the day together celebrating their friend and her love.we listened to her sisters and the deep love and respect they obviously have for each other that found their way out of their eyesas they expressed their heart to her throughout the day...(and yes, I might have shed a tear or two as I looked at my own sister...being a sister is an incredible + amazing thing...)we listened to hilarious stories during the toasts by trevor's crazy hunting buddies that he had grown up with since elementary schooland they had us laughing at their adventures and then in the next moment your heart was feeling squeezedbecause you could see that those crazy fun-loving buddies would take a bullet for their newly married life friend and his bride...another moment I had tears in my eyes watching trevor's mom dance one last time with her son andthen watching nadia dance with her dad who so evidently thought the world of her...and in the next moment had tears at laughing at the perfectly choreographed AMAZING dancethat told of another goofier amazing dad side that was perfect for their relationship.humble and kind.that is what these two will forever be in my mind.a rarity in a world that says you need to be the opposite...I'm thankful to have gotten to spend the time photographing + celebrating their love and loved ones that they share.congratulations, nadia + trevor and...thank you.this was a celebration to remember. :)
