best of 2017 - senior portraits

in most "best of" posts I don't think you typically start off by talking about recently watching the Devil Wears Prada.but I am because I was struck with something and it related to todays post.I know, I know...really?  the Devil Wears Prada?!yes.it's the

"don't be ridiculous, everyone wants this...everybody wants to be us."

line.it's incredibly profound, largely in part to the fact that the super introspective music starts to crescendo soon after the shocking silence soon after that particular line.but I think it's also profound because of the hollow-ness truth that it visibly brought to the surface.the world tells you to conform...to be about conforming and following the trends - maybe not with those words but definitely in the way they market and sell to the age-group below.at the heart of it, the world basically encourages you to sacrifice integrity.I love the next scene following that hollow line.in the next scene she simply and boldly walks away and becomes the person that resonates with integrity and truth best to her.yes, it might be a total disney moment...but it's a good and right moment that makes me smile and want to cheer her on.so how does that relate to todays post?well, it relates because I can honestly say that every person that you're going to see below has that same integrity and ability to make me smile.I'm a fan of these people.it's that one character trait of being true to who you are that makes me love my time with each of them so much.each of them are worthy of their own music movie crescendo...they. are. that. unique and cool.2017 was an incredible year creatively and an incredible year of meeting such unique and interesting seniors.I guess in some way, Miranda's line rings true - I can imagine a great many people wanting to be like these faces below. <3and in all sincerity...thank you.thank you for letting me photograph you.I love getting to. :)and last few because they make me laugh.  HARD. every time I look at them.fire is real.  and I honestly try not to let you light yourself on fire...buuuut, sometimes. ;)#worthit. :)
