did you ever meet someone who had the innate ability to walk to the beat of their own drum?there is something fascinating to me about a person like that.someone who is their own person and could care less about what people/society says is mainstream.but, not the kind-of person who is loud about doing their own thing, nope, the kind-of person who just does their own thing.my husband and I had a friend growing up that was like that.in junior high when pegged-jeans were cool (look it up for those of you born after 1995) :)and guess jeans or girbaud jeans were all the rage, our friend moved to town, showed up in red sweatpants and became one of the most popular kids in school overnight.blazing. red. sweatpants.with patches on them.marching to the beat of his own drum. :)this guy?he likes Hawaiian shirts.like loud-jerry Seinfeld's-dad-wears-one-in-palm-beach-florida-in-the-retirement-community-kind-of-Hawaiian shirts.he plays a ukulele.like the somewhere-over-the-rainbow-big-Hawaiian-guy-kind-of-a-ukulele.he can ride a skateboard pretty dang good...but his is not like the long-boards I see every suburbian kid try and pull off...nope, one that is barely bigger than his air-conditioned shoe.and speaking of his shoes.they are loved.loved to the point where as I said, are lovingly air conditioned. :)oh, and he's the gorilla in this video...yup, gorilla. ;)yup, this guy is very much like my sweat-pant wearing friend from the past.he's unique.he's a gentleman...his parents raised him right.(bonus points for offering like ten times to help me down the giant asu mountain til' I told him to stop because he was making me feel reeeeeally old.) ;)He loves Jesus, lives in the desert but looks like he's from the islands and is living out loud in his version of the red sweatpants.oh, and he's someone I admire. :)
