durango colorado wedding | mason + dani

I think that the longer that I do "this" the more I LOVE getting to do this.getting to document and photograph the people who I love stories is a major "get-to".outside of your family, I'm not exactly sure why God draws certain people to your heart more than others...but He does and it just happens...whether it's the similarity in how you do life, or what lights you up...there will always be people who become more than just people in your life.these are some of those people for me.hard-working, loving, make-me-laugh, not-ashamed-to-cry-in-front-of people who I love.  tremendously.when they asked if we would be willing to travel from Arizona to Colorado to photograph their day, it wasn't even a question.of course. :)and their day was nothing short of perfection in my mind.some wedding are perfect in their own right in a country club or fancy ballroom...but this one?this one was literally the most perfect mountain-country wedding I've had the privilege to be at and it suited their love perfectly!the pops of mint and coca-cola red blended with the tweed vests the guys wore and the unique-to-them mint dresses that the girls dressed in.everybody loves flower's wildflower arrangements with colorful ribbons streaming in the wind could not have coordinated any better and suited the long grasses we took formal photographs in...just before the girls finished getting ready, dani gifted the girls with mint bead bracelets and burt's bees products she hand-made to perfection and beautifully presented in mason jars.it's not a surprise ;) I was brought to tears a few times...the first right before mason saw her for the first time.he was nervous and it made me smile...he loves her tremendously and I know that although he felt the weight of the label "husband", he is going to excel at chasing how to be a godly one and thrive.  as he waited for her I thought about how it was a privilege to get to see parts of his adolescence that led him to the man that stood in front of my lens.  and I was proud of him and proud to know him. :)the other moment of tears was when dani walked down the aisle in her gorgeous princess gown...everyone was seated on hay bales covered in brilliantly colored indian blankets, the wind was softly blowing...the rain was not going to come but showed off with beautifully colored clouds. then jed began playing acoustically "at last I see the light" and oh my gosh, the world stood still for minute as they smiled at each other as he played and she walked towards him to say "I do."..."...now I'm here suddenly I see standing here it's all so clear, I'm where I'm meant to be..."a moment I will never forget...it was absolutely perfect.the wedding carried on through the night with barbeque, sitting around with family and friends talking and laughing, s'mores and lawn games...I'm telling you girls, THIS is the way to get married.everyone who was there was happy to do so...no one was obligated to.the atmostphere was comfortable and happy because everyone who was there was either family or thought of as family.perfectly simple, perfectly beautiful and perfectly them.thank you, mason and dani for letting us be there and photograph your most beautiful day.no pressure, just happiness.2014-08-20_00492014-08-20_00502014-08-20_00512014-08-20_00522014-08-20_00532014-08-20_00542014-08-20_00562014-08-20_00552014-08-20_00572014-08-20_00702014-08-20_00582014-08-20_00602014-08-20_00592014-08-20_00612014-08-20_00622014-08-20_0063realdani2014-08-20_00642014-08-20_00652014-08-20_00712014-08-20_00692014-08-20_00662014-08-20_00672014-08-20_00742014-08-20_00682014-08-20_00722014-08-20_00732014-08-20_00752014-08-20_00762014-08-20_00772014-08-20_00782014-08-20_00792014-08-20_00802014-08-20_00812014-08-20_00822014-08-20_0083oh yeah, one more thing...darth vadar showed up and they needed to defend the galaxy...true story. ;)2014-08-20_0084photographers: kreatid photography + elizabeth ann photographybride’s dress: alfred angeloflorist: everybody love's flowers
