spruce mountain colorado wedding | frank + elise
this wedding makes me smile still to have gotten to be a part of.mixing Chicago/Italian heritage with Denver/Jewish heritage sounds like the beginning of a bad bar joke, but this day could not have been any more perfect than it was...beautifully draped peonies + anemome's draped the Chuppah as a gentle breeze came in from under the giant oak treeset in the mountainside at Spruce Mountain.I loved that they included the meanings of the Jewish traditions in their program they handed out to each guest...a Chuppah represents the home that they will build together...and the sides of the Chuppah stay open to welcome family + friends.right before they were announced as husband and wife, a glass covered in a handkerchief was placed on the ground for Frank to smash.that tradition meant that by the breaking of the glass, Frank + Elise's love was irrevocable and everyone shouted "Mazel Tov!" as they kissed for the first time as husband and wife!Franks Chicago/Italian heritage didn't show itself off too much until it came time for family photographs...family was milling around and somewhat hard to get into position when Frank took charge and looked at Elizabeth + I and said with a smile"girls, fuh-getta-bout-it...you gotta get loud, louder than us and just shout at us where you want us! we're Italians and have thick skin...fuh-getta-bout-it and make it happen!"so we smiled/laughed and did just that...and it was beautiful and their family couldn't stop thanking us and laughing while everyone shuffled/shouted into place for pictures! ;)he STILL and they still make me smile and I LOVED getting to spend it photographing their most beautiful wedding day with Elizabeth!Congratulations again, Frank + Elise! :)
