this wedding, in my eyes, is one of the closest moments I've had to being in an actual disney princess movie.pulling up to the castle...let's pause on that for a second, yes, I said castle. ;)we stopped a half mile before the road to the castle began so we could take a cinematic photograph of the land the castle was on.that was my first inclination that maybe we had stepped into a disney princess movie...birds were chattering while the sunlight streamed on the castles turrets as the crested flags gently fluttered in the wind.long grasses swished and whispered in the wind in between tall strong trees that lined the countryside leading up to the cherokee castle, majestic mountains framed the castle in the distance.absolutely surreal.walking into the castle we were greeted with beautifully curated medieval art and statues throughout the main living quarters...even a genuine knight in shining armor (sans knight) was displayed and added to the allure of stepping into another time framewhere kings and queens, and princes + princess once resided;mystery and romance felt like it was at every stone wall turn and staircase.one of the large sleeping quarters behind the great wooden doors held the girls getting room.walking in to the room, the bridal party were in beautiful silk robes, having their makeup being painted beautifully on,hairspray and curlers beautifying already beautiful women, newborn babies were being held and cooed over, and the littlest flower girl swirled and swished in her new dress and shoes - simply happy being a little girl in a fancy dress.and then michelle.I'm struggling with how to describe her to you...I've only met her the one time, but she's the type of person who, quite honestly, is unforgettable.I told you that this day was the closest to being in an actual disney princess movie and yes, the venue helped with that thought, but the main reason I thought this disney thought, was because of michelle.you know the part in sleeping beauty where they describe what princess aurora will look like as she grows up?the first fairy give the gift of beauty, the second the gift of song, and the third the gift of being awoken from sleep by true love's kiss.the airy choir sings as they bestow their gifts on her:"One gift, beauty rare, gold of sunshine in her hair, lips that shame the red, red rose she'll walk with springtime wherever she goes. One gift, the gift of song melody her whole life long.  The nightingale's her troubadour bringing his sweet serenade to her door.Sleeping Beauty fair, gold of sunshine in your hair, lips that shame the red, red rose dreaming of true love in slumber repose. One day he will come riding over the dawn, when you awaken to love's first kiss till then, Sleeping Beauty, sleep on."I kid you not, this song could be about Michelle in her castle on her most beautiful wedding day.michelle, with her golden hair, beautifully made up lips and eyes, her happiness was infectious as she smiled and laughed throughout the entire day.you almost half expected cartoon blue birds and cartoon furry bunnies to follow her wherever she went. ;)she was the type of beautiful person that I imagine in high school, girls really couldn't be jealous of (even in spite of her beauty),simply because she was too kind of a person and that she genuinely cared about people...all people.the other room on the other side of the long stone hall in the castle, wafts of authentic bag pipe music could be heard as the bagpiper serenaded the castles guests.we walked past the large stone fireplace that was right next to a library similar to belle's in beauty and the beast.(I honestly can't make this stuff up, it really was like this!)behind another heavy, large wooden door held the room of guys getting ready to stand by michael.my first impressions of michael were verified by loved ones during the toasts later in the day.he was an interesting mix of gaston (I'll explain, and not in a bad way), prince charming + the marlboro man ;)he is an avid hunter and outdoorsman...and a good one from what I heard from his hunting buddies.his unhurried voice and rugged good looks reminded me of the marlboro man...just quiet manly confidence.and in spite of his ruggedness and hunting prowess...his tender love for michelle was visually obvious.from the first time he prayed with her from behind a door,to his eyes misting with tears as he saw her walk down the aisle to become his wife,to the way he would softly comment to elizabeth and I as we photographed her bridal portraits at how beautiful his new wife wasand that he couldn't believe she was his.I don't use the word precious very often, but his love for her was indeed precious in every masculine way possilbe. ;)thank you, michael + michelle.thank you for allowing elizabeth and I a glimpse into your fairy-tale wedding day...it truly was magical! :)kreatid photography + design | Elizabeth Ann Photographyvenue | Cherokee Ranch & Castle Foundationflorist | Statice Floral Designcake | Little London Cake Shoppecaterer | Gourmet Fine Cateringcinematographers | Bumblebee FilmsDJ | Randy Rodriguez Entertainmentbridal gown | Little White Dress | Justin Alexanderbridesmaids | Nordstrom | Donna Morgangroom and groomsmen attire | Tuxedo Junction & Danelle's Formals | Ike Behar New York
