Asher + Beck

waves

asherbeckauction

this past sunday my friend did the communion prep before communion.communion prep time (that's not it's official name, it's just what I call it) ;) is my time to be quiet,to be reminded to reflect on the daily grace that we, who call ourselves Christians, live inand it's a time to pause in a busy week, which honestly I don't do really well...resting...pausing and reflecting.I was captivated by my friends story that he told about he and his oldest son...I loved the correlation that he made of God and the waves that he and his oldest son got to play in...the fear and elation in getting to be God's kids...similar to standing in the ocean waves.I listened for a bit more but caught my mind thinking about my friend and his boys.as he talked, I imagined and thought about the waves crashing happily into his son...I thought about the physical act of Asher holding his breath as the waves crashed into him followed bythe happy Asher shouts in full breath as he exclaimed at the awesomeness of the waves, the kind of breathlessness that come at being slightly terrified and elated at the same time.breathlessness...*sigh* his boys have cystic fibrosis.it made me think about my own micah and maddie and their healthy lungs.it made me passionately feel deep in my bones that if my own two kids had cystic fibrosis,I would bleed/do/say/be anything to have them healed.for the past six years I've donated a session to be auctioned off at the Asher/Beck auctionhoping that in doing so it would help my friends and the cystic fibrosis foundation find a cure for these two boysand the many like them.and you know what?they are close...my friend posted an update about the advances they are making which is SO encouraging.but until that cure is found, my friends boys are still living with this disease.every. single. day.THIS year would have been the first that I didn't donate a session to help...not cool in my book. ;)SO, official auction or not...I'm having one to help my friends. (you can read about the state of the A/B auctionhere)my favorite part of the Asher/Beck Auction was the 50/50 raffle...the big jug of money that was collected and raffled off at the end.50% would go to the raffle winner and the other 50% would go to my friends and their boys and all the medical bills that come with two boys having cystic fibrosis.that's what I'd like to do.but more like a 100%/0% auction with the monies going directly to my friends and the boys' medical bills. ;)I'm donating a session...any kind you'd like outside of a wedding.we can be as creative or as simple as you'd like for your session if you win it...use it for yourself or I can get you a gift card to give the session to someone else.all you need to do to bid on this session is email me at jen@kreatid.com with your bid (bidding starts at $300)use the subject line Asher/Beck and let me know how much you'd like to bid(I'll post a daily update on where the bid is at)side note, I know a lot of you love these boys and this family as well,so let me know if you'd like to donate anything to these boys on top of your bid or if you'd simply like to bid for the session...whatever monies I collect for the session will go directly to these boys...simple as that.I'll announce the winner of the auction next Monday morning, because let's be honest...Monday's need a little extra happiness. ;)happy bidding!
