towards the end of this busy senior season I brought along my maddie to a few of the sessions...mostly people she knew of before we got to the session, but some not.yep, that's my peanut in my two sizes too big for her wellies do a rocking job of helping me switch out lenses on a session! :)I've brought her along for two reasons...one, she's been working hard in her ALP english class on something they call a "passion project".let's be honest, school has never been my forte and mad may be my kid, but when it comes to academics - she FAR surpasses me.but she's been working hard on her passion of photography...yes, my mom/photographer heart is happy she's passionate about something I'm passionate at...and she's GOOD.taking her along and letting her take behind the scene shots seemed logical to help her in her research/presentation.this is some of her latest work from alexa's session that is SOOC and unedited:the second reason I've brought her along to a few of the sessions is because I like for her to see and meet and interact with people outside of her typical "circle" and for her to see firsthand what I do for "work".my kids don't have access to a computer on their own, they don't have cell phones other than a flip phone they share, they don't have apps they love (other than me letting mad pin on pinterest) ;)a large reason for this is that my husband and I are big on teaching them actual social interaction.I'm always quick to gauge my clients reactions to mad...and today's girl makes me smile...BIG.alexa...you are an absolute GEM.you're interaction with mad and my short time with you left both of us in awe of who you are.you're naturally inviting, and gracious and kind in how you talk and laugh easily.you're unbelievably beautiful...so much so that my daughter whispered to me "I didn't even know people like her really existed!"and you were real with her...when she asked you about junior high/high school...you gave her great advice on how to take mean comments/conversations (which she couldn't believe were ever said about you) and still choose to be happy/positive in spite of judgmental/mean people.I can't thank you enough for the afternoon...you are a joy to be around and even more to photograph!thank you! :)
