I have yet to meet a person and not be struck with the fact that appearances are not always what they seem.it's like in a really good book,if the cover was neon yellow, had black studs all over it and had used the font "rebel slasher" for the title, what would you assume the contents held?more than likely something about a band in the early 80's, no? (and trust me, that thought would not hinder my desire to pick up the book.) ;)but what if the book held in it's pages - little women by louisa may alcott?if you're me, you'd be pleasantly surprised and smile a little bit at the secret of finding something deeper within.people are like that to me.my dad told me a loooooooooooong time ago in junior high that:"...with most people, you can find at least ONE something that is interesting about a person...focus on that in meeting new people."that statement has stuck with me my whole life. :)I suppose that's why I love photography so much...in first meeting someone they are only like a 2-D picture - you haven't yet looked closer to find the layers, but then in photographing them and talking to them...you find out that they aren't much of what you assumed and more than likely have a whole lot more layers than what you anticipated.I can hear my dad's voice in my head again, smiling and saying to me "you know what they say when you assume?" :)this girl is another one of those 3-D people I'm fortunate to meet.meeting her for the first time, this beautiful-has-family-in-Hawaii-petite-girl exuded a confidence that intrigued me.and not an arrogant confidence (the kind that is just skin-deep)...just confident. :)she works with kids with special needs...that tells me she has heart and a kind of patience that I don't know.she eats healthy by choice...somewhat in part by her raw chef mother...that alone intrigued me and told me she is disciplined and cares more about what's inside than what's perceived on the outside.and she's smart...u of a or asu are on the table for her college years.all this to say, I really like my job.I get to meet gorgeous full-of-life girls like this one who let's be honest, make my job super easy and incredibly fun!much love to you, Stephanie! :)
