it’s lit. 🙂 senior thesis’ + “yeah, don’t sign me up for a hike.” having a heart for foster care + loving others much. friendship + community. yellow + sunshine. butterflies. light. especially light.
all of these things make me think of her and how I’ve had the pleasure of knowing her and getting to do life with her these past few years in my small group. and she’s graduating from arete prep this year…that’s just crazy to think about for me and yet it’s so not. she’s going to do so well in real life…she’s made for it.
light. first john 1:5-7 comes to mind when I think about her and light. we must walk in the light. God is light. truth is light. if we walk in truth, we are walking with God. and I think one of the cool things about walking with God is that He doesn’t require us to be perfect, but I think He does long for us to be perceptive. He cares that we’re attune to our mistakes, not so we’ll beat ourselves up but so that we find freedom in coming clean with our sin through His Son and living in the Light as we then integrate ourselves with His one another’s. she does this so well. she’s not perfect but she’s perceptive and she cares about walking well with Him. and even more, she cares so much about the one another’s around her and cares about being a good friend that comes alongside the people who are lucky enought to be loved by her. in a lot of ways, she’s made this last small group of girls I lead what it is because she cares and she works hard at being transparent.
what I love about madalyne: she is faithful, she is funny and laughs easily + often and someone who makes me laugh often, she is witty, she is incredibly smart (hello, arete), she is observant and perceptive of others, she is beautiful with a smile that transforms her countenance, she is sensitive to the Spirit and responds and she is someone I am lucky to get to call friend.
